Gracie Gray is an LA based singer-songwriter and studio musician. She studied classical voice at the collegiate level for six years, but she always wrote songs on the side, leading her to find a voice of her own in the midst of many different influences. While her earlier songs are frequently described as "transcendent" and "ethereal," she has recently taken that color and placed it in heavier contexts such as heartbreak, loss, and the crisis of Syrian refugees. The combination of simple yet clever melodies and her soaring falsetto make for a hauntingly beautiful performance.
As a solo artist her options for growth are limitless, as she is not shy to get involved in many different facets of local music. In March 2016 she joined Long Beach-based band Leather Tramp, a 10-piece folk orchestra, as co-lead singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Since joining Leather Tramp she has toured the US and played festivals such as SXSW and Music Tastes Good, as well as Sofar Sounds shows in NYC, Chicago, and LA.
In February 2017, she began a project with songwriter/producer Johan Lindbrandt (BMM) called Annaland. It is an electronic indie pop duo, and their first single 'Tokyo' was released that year on October 27th via Proximity. Since then, it has gotten over 1 million views on Youtube between uploads on Proximity, Mr. Suicide Sheep, and Cloudkid. Their debut single 'Tokyo' made it to #3 on Hype Machine on November 14th, 2017.
Gracie Gray's debut EP 'Black Clothes' was released on June 23, 2017. It was produced by Mikal Blue and Jacob Williams at Revolver Recordings in Thousand Oaks, CA. She toured the EP in October 2017 with Sofar Sounds shows from LA to Seattle. She is currently recording new music to be released Spring 2018.
